Dữ liệu đóng vai trò như một nguồn tài nguyên vô giá trong kỷ nguyên số, cung cấp nguồn lực quan trọng để thúc đẩy sáng tạo, nâng cao hiệu quả và tạo ra giá trị trong hầu hết các lĩnh vực của cuộc sống. Khai thác và sử dụng dữ liệu một cách hiệu quả giúp xã hội phát triển bền vững, đồng thời mang lại nhiều lợi ích thiết thực cho con người.
Nhận thấy tầm quan trọng của dữ liệu trong việc thúc đẩy chuyển đổi số, từ năm 2023, Trung tâm Dữ liệu Quốc gia về Dân cư đã hợp tác với Đại học Bách khoa Hà Nội, Đài truyền hình Việt Nam (VTV) và Báo điện tử VNExpress tổ chức Cuộc thi DATA4LIFE với mong muốn tìm kiếm những ý tưởng và giải pháp sáng tạo trong việc tận dụng, khai thác dữ liệu để đẩy nhanh tiến trình chuyển đổi số, cũng như đóng góp tích cực vào sự phát triển kinh tế xã hội.
Năm 2023, cuộc thi Data4Life lần thứ nhất đã thu hút hơn 200 đội và hơn 600 người tham gia từ khắp mọi miền đất nước. Các đội đã mang đến cuộc thi nhiều ý tưởng sáng tạo được hiện thực hoá thông qua những sản phẩm và giải pháp tiềm năng, trong đó hầu hết sử dụng các kỹ thuật xử lý dữ liệu tiên tiến, với mong muốn đem lại cho xã hội nhiều ứng dụng thiết thực góp phần nâng cao chất lượng cuộc sống.
Được khích lệ bởi thành công của lần tổ chức đầu tiên, năm nay Ban Tổ chức đã quyết định tiếp tục tổ chức thuộc thi lần thứ 2 nhưng ở quy mô quốc tế với sự tham gia của các đội và giám khảo đến từ nhiều quốc gia trong khu vực Châu Á – Thái Bình Dương. Bộ dữ liệu do ban tổ chức cung cấp cũng sẽ phong phú và đa dạng hơn.
Thông tin cụ thể như sau:
- Đối tượng tham gia: các tài năng, đặc biệt tài năng trẻ có mong muốn nâng cao chất lượng cuộc sống của cộng đồng thông qua các giải pháp khai thác dữ liệu sáng tạo.
- Thời gian đăng ký: 31/8/2024 (gia hạn tới 21/9/2024).
- Giải thưởng:
- 01 giải Nhất: 300.000.000 VNĐ
- 01 giải Nhì: 50.000.000 VNĐ
- 01 giải Ba: 30.000.000 VNĐ
- 01 giải Khuyến khích: 10.000.000 VNĐ
- Hình thức, nội dung cuộc thi: Mỗi đội tối đa 5 thành viên. Các đội thi được cung cấp dữ liệu mẫu, giả lập về dân cư, căn cước, định danh điện tử và các nguồn dữ liệu hợp pháp khác do ban tổ chức cung cấp hoặc thí sinh tự chuẩn bị. Đội thi cần phải nghiên cứu các sản phẩm công nghệ là phần mềm, phần cứng ứng dụng thực tiễn dưới sự cố vấn của Ban Cố vấn cuộc thi và thuyết trình demo, trình diễn về sản phẩm trước Ban Giám khảo cuộc thi.

The International Data Innovation Competition DATA4LIFE 2024
Data plays a pivotal role in the digital age, providing an important resource to improve efficiency, to create new values and to promote innovation in almost all areas of our life. With the exponential growth of data generation, the leap forward in computing power and the rapid development of advanced data processing techniques, understanding and leveraging data effectively has become essential for individuals, organizations, and governments.
Realizing the importance of data innovation, since 2023, the National Center for Residents Data of Vietnam has collaborated with Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam Television (VTV) and VNExpress to organize The Data Innovation Competition Data4Life with the desire to look for innovative ideas and solutions in leveraging data to push the digital transformation, and ultimately the development of the societies to a new high.
In 2023, the 1st Data4Life competition attracted over 200 teams and more than 600 participants from across Vietnam. The teams brought well-prepared products and solutions utilizing cutting-edge techniques to the competition, showcasing many innovative ideas with high applicability.
Encouraged by the success of the 1st edition, this year the organizing committee decided to continue the 2nd one, but on an international scale with the participation of teams and judges from various countries in the Asia Pacific region. The datasets provided by the organizers will also be richer and more diverse.
Specific information is as follows:
- Eligible participants: talents, espcially young talents who are chasing the dream to change the world for a better one based on data innovation solutions.
- Registration deadline: September 21, 2024
- Prizes:
- 01 First Prize: 300,000,000 VND (~ USD 12,000)
- 01 Second Prize: 50,000,000 VND (~ USD 2,000)
- 01 Third Prize: 30,000,000 VND (~ USD 1,200)
- 01 Consolation Prize: 10,000,000 VND (~ USD 400)
- Competition format and content: Each team consists of at most 5 members. Teams will be provided with sample data, including simulated resident data, identity cards, electronic identification, and other legal data sources provided by the organizers; or data prepared by the participants themselves. Teams are required to propose tech solutions, including software and/or hardware, to solve practical problems under the guidance of the mentor board. After the application screening round, teams have to present their solution and demos to the competition’s judges.
- Support for international teams: Teams from abroad that reach the final round will be sponsored with airfare, accommodation expenses to participate in the in-person competition in Hanoi, Vietnam.
