Abstract:
Collective Knowledge can be considered as all justified true belief, information, skills and experience related to the real world possessed and used by the group, team or organization. The concept of Collective Knowledge is strongly related to Collective Intelligence is relatively well-known in theory of AI, but almost not used and applied in Information Systems. In the seminar the foundations of Collective Intelligence will be presented as well as the case studies based on real databases. In particular, the knowledge representation and reasoning methods will be detailed, notably ontologies and description logics, ensemble neural nets, evolution-based systems, and computational intelligence methods. A few research projects will be shown to illustrated the advantages and limits of collective intelligence such as models to discover managerial knowledge, cooperation of software agents in MAS, collective clustering of customer profiles and behavior.
