The Computer Center was established under the Decision No. 76/QD-CB, dated February 9, 1980 of the Minister of University and Vocational School. From March 1995, the Computer Center, together with other units in the University, formed the Faculty of Information Technology.

Main missions of Computer Center:

Providing General Information Technology practice courses and class for all standard students of Hanoi University of Technology

Guiding specialized subjects for the Institute of Information and Communications Technology

Managing and maintaining computer systems and informatics equipment of the University and the Institute to serve learning and research activities

Collaborate with other departments and units to organize short-term training courses and deploy technology application into practice

Organizing examination and certifying Informatics certificate under Circular 17 of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Information and Communications

Organizing examinations for institutes in Hanoi University of Science and Technology

Participating in teaching subjects for the continuous training system of Hanoi University of Science and Technology

Organizing Olympic competitions of Hanoi University of Science and Technology
