International cooperation
International cooperation with prestigious research and training units in developing countries has always been a focus of the School’s external activities. Every year, through bilateral and multilateral cooperation: Erasmus programs with European Union universities, scholar-student exchange programs with the Japan National Informatics Institute (NII), University of Sydney (UniSyd), Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Shibaura University, Osaka University (Japan), National University of Singapore (NUS), etc., the School has sent teachers and students to work and study at partner schools, as well as receive many lecturers, scientists and students from advanced countries to teach and learn in short-term courses at institute. The School of Information and Communication Technology also signed a cooperation agreement with Uppsala University (Sweden) to implement a 3 + 1 double degree training program for students of the Global ICT Program: students will study at Hanoi University of Technology for 3 years, and have the option to study in Sweden for a year to get degrees awarded by both schools. The current program has been in operation for 2 years and is being evaluated from both before being developed in the next years.
By international cooperation, the School has attracted many funding sources for training and scientific researches: Horizon 2020 Program, Erasmus Program (EU), ASEAN IVO Fund (Japan), Fund United States Army research, etc.
The School of Information and Communication Technology does not only cooperate with training and research institutes, but also builds an extensive network, connecting to leading IT organizations and companies, not only in Vietnam but also around the world. There are more than 200 businesses currently in partnership with School, effectively supporting in:
- providing business internship opportunities for students,
- support soft skills training, foreign language training,
- cooperating in scientific research and technology transfer,
- providing scholarships and funding for training and scientific research activities of student.
The School is in strong collaboration with Samsung Vietnam through training, internship, teaching, and testing facilities investment programs. School of Information and Communication Technology also develops close partnership with IBM Vietnam in developing training programs, assisting students in accessing advanced technologies, and being ready to enter a competitive international labor market.
