Research Interests

  • Artificial Intelligence, Algorithms and Optimization, Computational Intelligence, Evolutionary Multitasking.
  • Evolutionary Computing for solving optimization problems in delivery systems, distributed systems, coverage problems in wireless sensor networks (WSNs), maximize lifetime in WSNs, optimization problems in wireless rechargeable sensor networks, drone delivery schedule optimization.

  • A Fine-grained AI-based Mobile Air Quality Monitoring and Forecasting System (funded by Vingroup Innovation Foundation, 2020-2022
  • Towards energy unlimited IoT networks by nature-inspired algorithms (funded by National Foundation of Science and Technology – NAFOSTED, 2020-2022)
  • Multitasking Evolutionary Algorithms for Optimizing Artificial Neural Network and Graph-Based Models (funded by U.S Army Research Lab and US Army International Research Center – Asia Pacific, 2019-2022)
  • Developing metaheuristic techniques for solving optimization problems in distributed and software systems (funded by National Foundation of Science and Technology – NAFOSTED, Vietnam-Germany bilateral: 2017-2019).

Profile

Huynh Thi Thanh Binh is Associate Professor and Vice Dean of the School of Information and Communication Technology (SoICT), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). She is Head of Optimization Group. She is member and Vice Chair of the Science Committee on Computer Science and Information Technology, The National Foundation for Science and Technology Development – NAFOSTED from 2019-2022, 2023-2024. Her current research interests: Artificial Intelligence, Algorithms and Optimization, Computational Intelligence, Memetic Computing, Evolutionary Multitasking. She has published more than 130 refereed academic papers/articles. She is Associate Editor of the Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence Journal (2021-now), IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computational Intelligence (2022-now); Editor Board of Journal of Computer Science and Cybernetics (2015 – now), Journal of Science and Technology (2021-now). She has served as a regular reviewer, a program committee member of numerous prestigious academic journals and conferences, such as Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, Swarm and Evolutionary Computation, Applied Soft Computing, Information Sciences, Memetic Computing, Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC), The Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO)…

She is member of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society – Women in Computational Intelligence Committee (2017-2021); Chair of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Vietnam Chapter (IEEE Vietnam CIS). She is member of some committees of IEEE Asia Pacific: Student Activities Committee Chair (2019, 2020); IEEE Asia Pacific Conference & Technical Seminar and Conference Quality Management Committee (2019, 2020).
