Profile

Van Dat Tuong is a lecturer (assistant professor) with the Department of Computer Engineering at the School of Information and Communications Technology (SoICT), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). Prior to joining HUST, he was a principal engineer with the Viettel High Technology Industries Corporation from 2024 to 2025, and a senior professional with the Samsung Display Vietnam from 2023 to 2024. He was also a lead engineer with the Samsung Vietnam Mobile R&D Center – Samsung Electronics Vietnam from 2012 to 2018. He received the B.S. degree in mechatronics from HUST, Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2012, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in system software and big data from Chung-Ang University (CAU), Seoul, South Korea, in 2021 and 2025, respectively. His research interests include wireless networking, ubiquitous computing, and ICT convergence. He has published and reviewed numerous research works in IEEE Transactions in Wireless Communications, Network Science and Engineering, Industrial Informatics, Internet of Things Journal, etc. Furthermore, he received various awards including the Scientific Research Award for HUST Students in 2009 and 2012, the Samsung Best Employee Award in 2014, the Korean Government’s Global Korea Scholarship Award from 2018 to 2021, the CAU Young Scientist Scholarship Award from 2021 to 2023, the Best Paper Awards at the 2023 ICIT and 2024 ICOIN conferences, the CAU Excellence in Research Award in 2024, and the CAU Alumni Award for Excellent PhD Dissertation in 2025.
