About HEDSPI<\/b><\/p>\n
1. Overview<\/b><\/p>\n
HEDSPI is an abbreviation of \u201cHigher Education Development Support Project on ICT\u201d, and it is a practical information technology education program based on Japanese IT skill standards (hereinafter \u201cITSS\u201d). This project has been established and operated at the Vietnamese leading university, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (hereinafter “HUST”).<\/span><\/p>\n In June 2004, Vietnam and Japan issued a joint statement stating that “IT Engineering and other training will be conducted according to ITSS” as part of the “Asian IT Initiative” (This is Japanese IT International strategy).<\/span><\/p>\n Based on this, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (hereinafter \u201cJICA\u201d) conducted the Special Assistance Facility relating \u201c Higher Education Support Project (IT Sector) \u201d in June 2005.<\/span><\/p>\n In the following year, HEDSPI project was launched in 2006 and has been implemented composed of technical cooperation support project “HUST ITSS Education Capacity Development Project (2006-2012)” and \u201cHigher Education Support Project (2006-2014)\u201d which is JICA’s ODA project (including funds from the Vietnamese government).<\/span><\/p>\n Since 2014, when the operation support from JICA ended, the project has inherited and supported by Sun* Inc – a private company formerly known as Framgia Inc.. From September 2019, in order to further expand the project, a consortium composed of several Japanese IT companies (described below) has been established, and has inherited operation support.<\/span><\/p>\n 2. Purpose<\/b><\/p>\n This project aims at achieving two main goals, which are educating Japanese language and practical and advanced IT knowledge, and training human resources to meet the demand of the industry in Japan.<\/span><\/p>\n The implementation of a model education program based on ITSS at HUST, and the enhancement of the education standards in the field of IT in Vietnam contribute to the training of outstanding human resources towards domestic economic development.<\/span><\/p>\n Growing human resources with skills corresponding to \u201cITSS Level 3″ (the level required to work independently with the necessary knowledge) and \u201cJapanese skill higher than JLPT N3\u201d, that can be a bridge to connect Japan and Vietnam, and to respond to the demand of Japanese industry.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" About HEDSPI 1.
