The purpose of the project is to improve the quality of higher education by providing more motivating, stimulating, and effective learning contexts based on active learning and problem-based learning that prepare students for their professional life through the development of industry desired competences. ALIEN also aims to establish active learning and problem-based learning as strategic educational approaches in engineering higher education.<br \/>\nThe ALIEN project is being implemented in 5 European and 5 Asian countries with the participation of 17 universities from Greece, Portugal, the UK, Estonia, Bulgaria, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Nepal, and Pakistan.
